Getting a Grip on Reality

Teresa Ashby from A Likely Story has very kindly nominated me for the Reality Blog - thank you Teresa!

This award is nice and simple (which suits me!) as are the rules:

Visit the blog of the person who nominated you and link to them on your post. Answer the questions, nominate more bloggers and let them know.

Here are my answers to the questions:

If you could change one thing, what would it be?

There would be no cows in the field I have to cross when I walk Bonnie.

If you could repeat an age, what would it be?

Oh, definitely my forties!

What one thing really scares you?

Can I really only have one? I suppose it would have to be the pitch black... and cows (sorry I just had to sneak that one in).

If you could be someone else for the day, who would it be?

Teresa Ashby - then I see could steal here secrets to short story success!

I have chosen people to nominate whose blogs I like and who I haven't nominated for an award before:

Karen Clarke Get On With It
Sally Jenkins
Helen Yendall Blog About Writing
Lynne Hackles I Should Be Writing

  1. I must admit last time I was in a field full of cows I did feel a trifle nervous - they do like to come and check you out don't they?

I think you've already found the secrets to short story success and if you were me for the day, you'd discover my secret life as a computer game addict :-) x

  2. Hi Wendy, I'm afraid of cows as well, they can have strange personalities I think. Especially when they've got calves. Well done on the story sales. I enjoyed the Isle of Wight one. It felt like going on a tour of the Island. Lovely story. Will look out for the others.

  3. Thank you so much for the nomination, Wendy! I'm scared of cows too - when I was about 7 we went on a nature walk from school and a herd of cows chased us. It was the boys fault because they were shouting at the poor animals and waving sticks.

  4. I really like cows. I grew up on a farm which might account for it.

  5. Great answers, Wendy. We often have cows lumbering along the other side of our fence which borders the hilly farmland. I don't mind them, but years ago one got through a neighbour's fence and ended up in her patio!

  6. OOH I'm so with you about the cows, oh my goodness - I was chased by a thundering herd of them while walking the dog a couple of years ago, and I've never run so fast in my life. I had to leap over a barbed wire gate (which ripped my cardigan) to escape them, into a field I then couldn't get out of. I had to circle it for ages while they watched me and Molly kept barking at them, which meant it took ages before they got bored and wandered off. (Can you tell it affected me badly?!)

Thanks for the tag, I'll try and do it justice :o)

  7. Yes, Wendy you are right to be nervous of cows when you've got a dog with you. I know someone who regularly used to walk her dog through a field of cows and one day they charged at her, trampled her and nearly killed both her and the dog. Fortunately they both recovered but it wasn't nice! I wouldn't go through a field of cows with a dog. (and now that I've terrified you, can I just say, thanks for nominating me for a blog award!!)
