Who'll Be My Fiftieth Follower?

I have no prizes, I have no books to give away but what you will get is me saying, "Woop, Woop, Woop you are my fiftieth follower!" 49 is a scraggy number neither clean cut lines nor comfortable curves but 50...well it shouts out, "Look at me. I'm half a century!"

I am sad  because I had three (yes three!) rejections yesterday, in the same email. So cheer me up by joining my select little group of lovely followers and we can have a party!

This is all just one huge procrastination because I am stuck on my story but never mind, I'll get there in the end.

If you want, you can pop over to The Bookshelf Muse where there is a great post about writing dialects - something I avoid at all costs.

  3. 50 followers is brilliant, Wendy, and in such a short time! But it is no surprise as your blog is so inviting and downright helpful and supportive! Congratulations on half a century!

  4. It's a great blog, Wendy - strikes just the right tone every time. I'm sure the rejections are just a blip and you'll be reporting new successes very shortly. :-)

  5. Hurrah - I see you reached that magic number, Wendy! Given the great success rate you've had this year, I'm sure this is just the kind of blip we all go through at times.

  6. You are doing well to have reached the half-century Wendy! Sorry to hear about the rejections - the only remedy is to get more stories submitted asap. I haven't heard a peep on any my 2013 subs, but I guess no news is good news etc. :)

    2. And I should have kept my fingers off the keyboard. Less than hour after saying I'd had no news... got an email rejection from PF, sadly for my serial pitch. Can I take a turn with the rejection t-shirt?

    3. Oh I am SO disappointed for you, Tracy. I had my fingers double crossed for that, which obviously didn't help! Why don't you send it to another magazine that takes serials (does WW?) or turn your idea into a pocket novel? I'm sure it was the market that wasn't right rather than the actual story. Yes you may take your turn with the 'I've been rejected ' T-shirt - but I haven't finished with it yet(another one from WW yesterday!)

    1. You obviously hadn't realised that it is a particularly special honour to be number 51, Vikki! Thank you for joining my party - you can be guest of honour.
