My First Blog Award!

Thank you very much, Patsy for my 'Very Inspiring Blog' award. As a new blogger, I am chuffed!

I hope that readers do find my blog inspiring - I try to give hope and useful resources to new writers.

I have to tell readers 7 random facts about myself:

Here they are and very random they are too!

1. I first heard 'The Cure' play when they were teenagers in a friend's back garden and went to school with bassist Simon Gallop.

2. I hate the pitched black.

3. My secret wish is to be on Strictly Come Dancing and wear one of the sequinned dresses.

4. As a teenager I was invited to Brian Ferry's 'party' by his road manager ( I didn't go!).

5. My lucky number is 10.

6. I was a grandmother at 43!

7. I am addicted to Australian Masterchef.

Here are the rules:

1. Display the award logo on your blog.
2. Link back to the person who nominated you.
3. State 7 things about yourself.
4. Nominate 15 other bloggers for this award and link to them.
5. Notify those bloggers of the nomination and the award’s requirements.

I have cheated a bit with my nominations as The Pocketeers contain several people so I've nominated nine others and counted them as five (Never try and expect me to split a restaurant bill!)

Apologies if any of you have been nominated before.

Teresa Ashby

Linda Lewis

Wow - invited to Brian Ferry's party AND hearing the Cure in a back garden, how cool is that! :-) x

  2. You are so kind for including us--thank you, Wendy! I love Masterchef, too! I haven't seen the Australian one, but I really like the North American one with Gordon Ramsay...it's strange to see him show more support and kindness to competitors after watching him F bomb all over the place in Hells Kitchen!

Hope you have a wonderful holiday!

  3. Thank you, Wendy, so much for this award. I'm really delighted!
I enjoyed your seven facts very much and am looking forward to thinking of seven of my own.
I would have loved to see the Cure play in a back garden when I was a teenager. Nothing remotely as exciting happened to me back then!

  4. Invited to Brian Ferry's party!!! Maybe you had a lucky escape but why on earth didn't you go? Then again I don't think I would have even though I thought he was a real smoocher.

    1. With hindsight, it was a lucky escape. My sister, who was with me, was four years older than me and sensibly said no.

    1. That's not a problem at all. I think this award is a good way for people to investigate blogs they might otherwise never have read or seen.

  8. Thanks so much for the award Wendy. I'm going to do my bit over the Christmas holidays - after the big day as I'm a bit busy till then! I agree with you on the Strictly - lovely dress but I fear my dancing would be hopeless and best not seen in public.
Hope you have a lovely Christmas.
