There are plenty of successful novelists who never plan. Sounds like the planners, like me, are actually in the minority. I have to have the story ready in my head before writing and for longer pieces use index cards to summarise chapters... doesn't mean my plot of characters actually follow the plan though!TracyFellshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10224475173136774530noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8787438044751492963.post-84062520048703982002013-03-31T19:19:23.102+01:002013-03-31T19:19:23.102+01:00Ah, one for the planning side - I think you're...Ah, one for the planning side - I think you're outnumbered at the moment, Anne.Wendy's Writinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06960941625432714363noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8787438044751492963.post-6183729574657636852013-03-31T19:16:16.289+01:002013-03-31T19:16:16.289+01:00What a brilliant quote, Lynne. What a brilliant quote, Lynne.Wendy's Writinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06960941625432714363noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8787438044751492963.post-56043752189518859962013-03-31T19:03:47.570+01:002013-03-31T19:03:47.570+01:00I have to say I love a good plan! It gives me courage. I write a one-page outline which is very bare bones. It's kind of a warm-up drill because I usually stray from the outline about one paragraph into the story. It's always a huge relief when the characters take over. But until then, yikes!

Ann Weisgarberhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11220698901977906665noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8787438044751492963.post-4734089452821969142013-03-30T19:34:20.601+00:002013-03-30T19:34:20.601+00:00There are definitely more votes for non-planning t...There are definitely more votes for non-planning than planning so far. Will have to see what others say.Wendy's Writinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06960941625432714363noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8787438044751492963.post-12092184076750207352013-03-30T18:31:56.870+00:002013-03-30T18:31:56.870+00:00Oops, that will teach me not to read through befor...Oops, that will teach me not to read through before I press publish.
